3rd class made parachutes, tin foil towers, papercopters and vinegar and baking soda explosions during Science Week
THurd class had great fun making papercopters, paper chains and creating colourful explosions.
5th and 6th classes were busy last week planting Crocus bulbs in memory of those who lost their lives in the Holocaust. We hope that the bulbs will spring up in early February and we are going to add more bulbs this week to extend the flowering season in our new bed- Thanks to the 5th and 6th class teachers for organising this great initiative.

On Monday, members of the Carlow Lyons Club visited the school to spread awareness for the prevention of Diabetes Type 2 through healthy eating, exercising and drinking lots of water. Students in 6th classes received goody bags which had lots of nice items to bring home to their families. 
Room 13 have been learning about the teeth. Our stem challenged was to make a model of the teeth showing the shape of the different types of teeth! The children had a great time and really enjoyed the process and are very proud of their work! 
Our Junior Infants completed a Halloween STEM Challenge this week. They enjoyed working together to make spider webs using just marshmallows and stick
3rd class used probots to draw 2-D shapes this week.
Well done to all the boys and girls in 3rd class for their wonderful, creative and very spooky pumpkin pictures. Congratulations to our two winners. 🎃
3rd class really enjoyed learning how to code with the Pro-Bots this week. They created 2D shapes and challenged themselves to create new codes.

Ms Hennessy’s 4th class had a great day yesterday for Maths Week as they were playing lots of chance games including die, cards and counters.
We have started Maths Week today with lots of fun activites including a Maths Table Quiz designed by Ms Minnock and Mr Kelly has been busy with IZak-9 block activites.
We have been very busy in 6th classes with Olympic Handball and Cricket in PE. We are also learning how to Code using our i-Pads as parto of our Digital Learning Framework. A huge thanks to Mr Kelly for all his support in Team Teaching!
We had a wonderful Opening School Mass at the beginning of October and 2nd-6th classes all attended St Clare’s Church where Fr Dunphy had a lovely mass for us all. We are so proud of our school community and we are blessed to have such a supportive Parish Team to help and guide the faith formation of our school.
Following our work on the colour wheel, room 13 then used the primary colours to make secondary colours and created a lovely art of display showing their names.
Some pictures of fourth class working on our fundamental movement skill which is running! We worked on walking, jogging, running and sprinting, played some games and ended our lesson with relay races! We were lucky with the great weather!
