It was very much “Freaky Friday” as the pupils of St. Fiacc’s made their way onto the school grounds last Friday. The creativity of the pupils is beyond description…….take a look for yourself…………!!!!

At Assembly today we bade farewell to our four Spanish students and congratulated our two prizewinners in Carlow’s Glór na nGael comórtas ealaíne.
Junior Infants retelling the story ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and enjoying some other gingerbread man activities.
Room 21 created their own monster leaves, trees, a bonfire and scary ghosts and witches surrounding the bonfire. A spectacular spooky start to October.
Fifth class created their own islands and presented it to the class. There were some great ideas from rollercoasters around volcanos, cyclones, Tarzan in the jungle, big animals becoming smaller animals, army camps and so on. We have fantastic imaginations in Room 21.

At assembly today we heard a beautiful rendition of “I’ll Tell me Ma” by Miss Mullen’s class, accompanied by Mr Kelly……which led to many rounds of “Olé; Olé; Olé” to celebrate Shane Long’s cracker!!! Loyalties will be seriously divided on Sunday however, against Poland!!!

Yesterday, the St Fiacc’s boys football team took on the mighty Rath and once again came out on top. Winning 3-2 to 1-2, the Fiacc’s boys were given a tough game. I had words with Terry French about moving the ball about. He took the advice on board and was man of the match in the second half. I have the Fiacc’s engine purring nicely…… JB (An Laoch).

Well done to the children from 3rd to 6th class who participated in tag rugby blitzes last week to celebrate the opening of the Rugby World Cup. A big thank you to Wes for facilitating the games.
